About Brittney Loera, AMFT

Supervised by Rebecca L Schwarz, LMFT

I am a wife, a mother, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, And a Christian in every area of life.

That being said, I understand that we live in a broken and hurting world. So… inevitably, we will each experience brokenness in our own way at some point in our lives. That old saying “Hurt people hurt people.” is a painful truth. But, the opposite is also true and oh so beautiful: “Healed people heal people.”

I personally have experienced healing from brokenness in my own life so I know what the journey looks like from both sides of the fence. For me, healing has come from Christ both instantly and through therapy and Christian counseling.

I know that therapy helps. However, when therapy is led by the Holy Spirit, I know that it creates lasting changes. I look forward to working along side you and watching you become the person that God created you to be.

My education and training enable me to offer individual, couple, and family therapyI endeavor to help people who struggle with relationship problems such as:

Communication
Marital Discord
Premarital Challenges
Parenting Challenges

Foster/Adoption Issues

Blended Family Challenges
Postpartum Depression
Postpartum Anxiety

My experience includes working with adults, adolescents, and children with challenges such as:

Anxiety
Depression
Mood disorders
Grief and Loss
Betrayal trauma
Infidelity

Training

I graduated from Hope International University’s MFT program. Upon graduation, I worked in community based agencies where I primarily worked with ages 0-19, parents and families. During my time in agency work, I was trained in several evidence based practices including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). I have also utilized Attachment Core Pattern Therapy (ACPT) and have seen the impact of a modality that incorporates aspects of CBT, Attachment work, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

My Professional Credentials include:

Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist AMFT# 101914

Supervised by Rebecca L Schwarz, LMFT #46721

Member of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists

Additional Information about Brittney

Both before and during my time away from the counseling position, my husband and I have continued to serve on our church leadership team and have been instrumental in developing a married couples group using materials that focus on ACPT. In these groups, the conversations are similar to a group therapy session and I am able to use many of my skills to maintain a safe and growth-minded atmosphere.
